Why or why not? What is your perspective on life?

Happy is relative and subjective individually, and also cyclical.

It's comparative to wealth. What "IS" for one, may not be for another.

I'll give you a brief example.

I can be UN happy that I've misplaced my car keys, then say "THANK YOU" when I uncover them under papers. Certainly some routine about WHERE I put my car keys would help, but many don't.

Then if I look at my watch in my elation over the FOUND keys, I might notice I'm late for an appointment? GRRR, and get into traffic jams on the way, BIG GRRR; then stressed I make the appointment only to find that I'm earlier than I was supposed to be, hence HAPPY, until I wait and find my appoinment may have also gone through the same process.

In the GRAND scheme, we have the ability to craft much of our own happiness, and too, our own depressions. I choose a lighter approach to life, when possible.

Yes, I would say that I am basically happy and happy with my life. Of course, there are some things that make it hard to be happy some days because I live with chronic pain. I do know how blessed I am to be alive and to be married to my best friend. I have 3 furry kids (dogs) that make me laugh and are fun to watch. My life is totally different now than it was 10 years ago. I now live a quiet, simple life and find that I like it better this way. I try my best to live each day as it comes and put the past in the past. I don't let little things get to me anymore. I live by faith now.

I am not happy and it is all my fault. But I plan on being happy by making myself happy with booze, money, hot men, and a great life all around. I am making my body hotter by dieting and exercise. I am eating healthier. I didn't know there were so many vegetables out there. I thought if you pour grease over things that it counted as a vegetable. Any way, diet is good. And I am starting to feel better, happiness will come. Oh, and I shop a lot lately. It makes me smile. That helps....I am one step away from happiness. Of course there is a pit under the stairs. Ha ha.

Being happy is like being a good friend. Sometimes it takes a little work. Once in a great while I have to remind myself of all the blessings in my life. Wonderful family and friends. Being able to give "Happy" and take "Happy" when it's offered is to be aware. Yes, I'm happy, too much good in my life not to be.

Yes in general I am very happy, life sure isnt easy all the time but it wasnt meant to be,if it were then we would become complacent and not realize how great the gift of life is.so I thank the Lord everyday that I awake and know that I am the father of a beautiful little girl and she loves me I couldnt ask for anything more. That alone makes me the richest and most happy man on this planet!

Happiness in the material world is relative. We are always bombarded by the three-fold miseries of existance here: The miseries we inflict upon ourselves due to ignorance and bad choices; the miseries others inflict upon us in the form of mental, physical, and emotional anguish; and the miseries inflicted upon us by nature in the form of calamity, disease, old age, and death.

Every living being is subjected to these miseries, and yet we are struggling very hard to be happy. We define happiness in terms of the temporary pause in misery, but we can see that neither misery or happiness is permanent. So, we are thinking, "Oh, today I am not suffering, so I am very happy". Others are denying the misery, saying, "Whatever happens, I can convince myself that I am happy".

A sane person can understand that we are always being subjected to misery, but we can make the best of a bad situation. That person tries to find the cause of the unhappiness in the world, and tries to determine what is real happiness.

If we want to be truly happy, we come to the realization that we are not meant to take material bodies so that we can serve our senses. We realize that we are the servant of God, not the served, and that by serving God, we can remove ourselves from this miserable material existance, and obtain our original spiritual bodies, which are full of bliss and happiness.

Yes and not. I'm not home at the moment - so I'm unhappy, but I will be soon, so I'm happy. I met my soul-mate - and I am extremely happy because of that, but we are separated right now, so I'm extremely sad. I haven't made my dreams come true - which makes me sad, but I know I will some day, and I'm happy because of that. Etc, Etc.

i am happy. i am happy that i loved someone...truly, madly & deeply in this lifetime. i am happy that i had a mother who (unfortunately, no more there with me) thought me to be strong in the toughest of times, i am happy that i have a father who cares for me and guides me at every point of life. i am happy that i have a little sister and an elder brother (though we have differences). i am happy that i have friends, who can really stand by me in times of trouble. i am happy that i am able to view the beauty of nature with these wonderful eyes. i am happy that i can walk up to anything that i like and pick it up with my hands to really savor the beauty of it. i am happy that i am in my right senses. i am happy that i don't really need to struggle much to make ends meet. finally, i am happy that i have freewill in life.

i just realized that i have a lot more reasons to be happy about everything in this life. all my life i have cribbed and sulked, but death of my mother has thought me the true value of life. if you are trying to find reasons to be happy, i suggest you have a look at that person who has nothing at all.

I'm not really what you would call happy. I get depressed real easily. And i know it may sound weird, but sometimes I get on the computer just to get away from the real world, lol. Well, its true though. I hate life, and I just, at times, really want to leave this evil, corrupt, world.
