I'm female so I think I'm more inclined to be more sensitive than the average male, but sometimes I feel like I totally blow things outta proportion and I don't know if I should blame it on genetics, pms, being homesick, or just plain overreacting. For example, there is a person in my class who constantly makes me the butt of all his jokes. In the beginning it was funny, but now he's obviously going out of his way just to be plain mean and when he sees it upsetting me he says, "God, can't you take a joke? I'm just a playing." I'm all for laughter, but sometimes he crosses the line and goes too far, or it's just not funny at all and I get annoyed. I've already told him it bothers me and now I think he's angry with me for being upset. Still....when someone takes a part of my self-esteem/confidence away, it really iritates me. Why do people (mostly guys) act this way, or is it just me?

He just likes you, and he knows it irritates you so he does to get your attention. But he has no right to make you feel like crap. Your not over reacting. Your just sensitive and don't like being made fun of. If he is mad, he'll get over it. Just act like hes not there and he'll come around. Trust me.

It sounds more like you are just fed up with being picked on. I don't think you are overreacting. You need to give him a taste of his own medicine! Make him the butt of a few jokes, let him feel stupid. I bet he won't like it too much. Most of the time, people that are always picking on others are the ones with the most insecurities!

Maybe go to consoling. They would help your problems and you can always trust them. Or maybe just tell the kid to please stop. What would happen if I was you and you were me? You would know how it feels to get hurt like me. Oh, and most of all say stuff about him in your head. It can hurt. Then, at school, people would be very scared of you and people would think you would be the new bully at school.

just come back with something even nastier to him, you may actually end up being good friends if you both trade bad jokes about each other consistently
