People are just so afraid of things they do not understand.
Ouija Boards are actually called "Talking Boards". They are tools that are used by those who are sensitive to "spirits" to communicate with those spirits.
The directions are quite simple. Place the "pointer", correctly called the planchette, on the board. Usually two people will place their fingers on the planchette and the planchette is moved by you in response to what spirits are indicating. They do not "magically" move around the board. Spirits are non-corporeal, so they can not move it. Instead, you "hear" the spirits through your subconscious and you hands respond. Much like automatic writing. But a lot more readable.
In most working groups, this is done by at least three people, two to move the planchette (having more than one person reading the spirits makes the connection better) and one who records the reading.
This is a tool. It is not a portal, it is not a gateway, it is not a Hollywood movie, it is not a hotline to "the devil", whoever he is.
You are basically channeling the spirits.
Many folks will look for a "spirit guide" who will help them connect on the other side. This spirit does two things. Enables you to connect with the spirit you want, and looks out for you. Some folks call this spirit "HGA" or their Holy Guardian Angel. Others have animal spirits, family members or other such trusted spirits.
It is, first and foremost, a tool. It does not do anything in and of itself, and is useless without an operator.
Have fun with this, explore beyond your own boundaries. And never evoke anything bigger than a breadbox.

Ouija board
Bearing a name said to be derived from the French and German words for “yes,” the Ouija board is simply a flat, smooth board bearing the letters of the alphabet, numbers, and often the words “Yes,” “No,” “Maybe,” and “Goodbye.” A hand-sized, heart-shaped device perched upon three short legs, each of which has a pad or wheel to enable the instrument to slide freely across the board, is known as the planchette. This is used as a pointer, the tapered end of the heart shape indicating letters on the board.
One or more operators sit around the board, each lightly resting fingers upon the top of the planchette. It is said that spirits or other entities cause the planchette to move about the board, spelling out messages and answers to questions posed by the operators. (This process is a form of “dactylomancy,” or divination by means of finger motions.)
Actually, the movement is due to the ideomotor effect and this can be shown by the fact that when the operator is properly blindfolded, only gibberish is produced.
The Ouija board was patented in 1892 by a Maryland novelty company.

Well since no one gave you an actual response to your question. I will do it.
Using the board is quit simple, but mostly the game is a hoax.
Gather several people, around 3 or so, and place the board on a table, make sure the environment is dark and the room is lit with candles. Once you have done that, everyone is to place both their index fingers onto the white revealing piece. Then you just try to connect. Ask if there is anyone that would like to speak with you, and if you get a response, then continue asking questions.

First, place the Ouija board on a flat surface, such as a table or countertop. Next, fold the board in half twice. Finally, toss the folded board into the nearest trash bin.
That way, you're rid of the useless thing.

I know some people are going to find this to be B.S. but anything you put your faith and energy into automatically assumes a kind of power. If you are serious about getting into and want to use it for medium purposes you should check out how to properly open and close the board (Not literally, but closing the session is very important).. You can get some info here:
