Logging off versus closing the window on computer?

When u are in inbox and then u close the window (ex icon) Do you get logged out immediately. Is it the same as clicking on sign out..
if not are there any dangers to someone reading the mail somewhere else. This also goes for sites that require login.

no logging off is different from closing browser window and it is certainly dengerous. Some site also provide facility to log out account immidietly after specific time ( though you are not online)
