I'd say 250k+ if looked after which yours appears to be. I'd sooner have a car with high miles and history than a low miler without. I had an e30 '89 bmw with full bmw history and it went as well as it did when it was new.
I disagree with the high maintenance cost statement above though. I found it no more expensive for parts than a ford or vauxhall. Also was fairly easy to work on.
Depends on year as to whether £1300 is a good buy or not. I'd expect to get you into at least 1993/94 at that money.

If what you are talking about is 12,900 miles or 12,900 Km for only 1300 pounds and it has a full service warranty yeah it is a pretty good buy depending on how long the warranty is for. But still have a mechanic check it out first for any hidden problems that might show up which isn't covered by the warranty.

the 3 series tends to start of as a young executives car so it gets hammed, two years down the road its flogged of to a 30 something bloke who wanted one when he was younger but didn't have the money and he hammers it, another two years and he sells it of before things start going wrong, now its just about in the price range of the proper boy racer who hammers it, but now things go wrong and he bring it into my garage for repairs that cost a absolute fortune, he cant pay because he has used up all his credit buying the thing so i get a gob full about the size of the bill or have to Wait months for my money. No its not a good buy

I do not know what you mean by 12900, and I am not familiar with the "value" of L1300, but I have seen MANY BMWs (like my 525i) which have made it well over 200,000 miles.

I'm presuming you mean 129,000 miles?
Personally, I wouldnt recommend it. The only cars that will still be reliable with that amount of mileage would be japanese.
Can't understand the appeal of a 'beemer' let alone an old one.

Just remember that good old golden rule..."If it sounds too good to be true, it is!"
That is what this car sounds like to me...much too good to be true.
