Yes you can feel very tired from underactive thyroid disease if you do not have the correct dosage. Blood tests are taken every three months to make sure you are where you need to be. Often a family doctor does not do all the blood work required to give a very acturate reading. There is much you could read about thyroid disease online. The different tests are confussing if you don't understand. The other things that come from thyroid disease is dry skin, thinning hair, and lack of energy.
In your head you are wanting to accomplish tasks but you don't have the energy to do so. You would rather sleep in than get up and get things done.. good luck to you... and there is no need to drink, take, or medicate yourself with anything else.. just go and get the proper tests done and regularly in order to get regulated.

Try Mary Shorman(sp?) website, she's an advocate for people with Thyroid issues. I've had the same issues myself, often coming home and making dinner, then falling asleep on the couch til morning.
Went to a naturopath, she gave me a B12 shot and some tincture to help boost my thyroid function. So far, so good.
We can have normal levels and still feel tired. Most people feel their best when their TSH is around 1. The normal levels are between .5 and 5. Ask your doctor what your results were.
Read lots of info on web, there is lots out there. Do a google search for "thyroid friendly foods". Some are not good for thyroid patients, ie. cauliflower.
Keep informed. Be your own advocate for your health. You are the one who knows how you feel, not your doctor with the numbers. See if you can get in to see an endocrinologist. There are more tests to run than just TSH.

I agree entirely with oldone. You definitely need to make sure that you are on the correct dosage.Keep getting check ups at the Docs and make sure that you are within the guidelines ,there seemingly is a number that you have to come between.
