Queen of England uses Royal Blue, the tradition goes back to William the Conquerer and the French tradition. Blue was chosen because the dye was expensive in the past.
Another colour associated with power is Imperial Purple which goes back to Roman traditions.
As Queen of Scotland she also uses the Stewart Tartans including one reserved solely for the House of Winsor and Commonwealth Tartan.
Meeting the Pope she wore black.
