My firebelly newt scrunches up by his rock all day and hardly moves. But he still eats. Is he sick? Help!

If it's cold where you are and the rock is warm, the cage may be too cold for him.

If he is eating then he should be fine. Do you have him housed with anything else? FBN secrete toxins from their skin as well as absorb so if you have anything else in the tank, I would remove it. We had our housed with 2 FBtoads and have now lost 1 FBT and our newt. It is winter and alot of animal hibernate. Do you have any basking light? They spent alot of their time on land basking.

I think he's fine. My newts don't move much either. A few times a day they prowl the perimeter of their aquarium, but other than that they're pretty stationary.
