Check to see if it's had a new engine. I'm serious, by the way. Many of the earlier V8 Jags had a problem with excessive bore wear in the cylinders. Many would have been replaced under warranty, but it would be too late to claim now. Buy a 2000-on car with Jag FSH & you should be fine. They're lovely cars, but you could run 2 Mondeos for the same money!

Both are good handling comfortable cars. BMW is smaller but adequate. BMW has above average reliability, Jaguars are pretty bad although this one is to new to know for sure. BMW retains its value quite well, Jaguar depreciation is high. The Jag will cost a lot more to own over five years according to most experts. It's your money now. Buy what you like and I'll bet you'd look terrific in either one.

But can you afford the petrol. Consumption is dreadful and it won't do anything for your carbon footprint.
