Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Examine the baby, pretending he/she is very beautiful, until you convince yourself of that.

No. Theres a way to say the baby is beautiful and not be a liar. Instead of looking at its physical appearance look at the babies innocence. That is a beautiful thing. Just say the baby is beautiful because it is true.
Telling any mother her baby is ugly would be very mean and cruel. To her that baby is the most beautiful thing ever created in all of creation. Dont ruin that for her.

You should tell her. Find a picture of a really ugly person and tell her, OMG I just found a picture that looks like a grown up version of ____(baby's name)____, then show her the pic.

Hells NO - just say something to the effect of - arent you precious or "oh look at you" - be vague so you arent lying but dont tell the mom the kid is fugly - she will never speak to you again.
