http://www.limewire.com/ is the most used free file sharing site. make sure you have anti virus running before swapping any files. the free edition of avg available from http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/ does a good job. once you have installed limewire do a search for limewire pro. then install this and delete the original. pro is faster.

I have heard of a p2p program called Shareaza. It links with limewire, bearshare gnutella 1 and 2. You do need to be careful though, there is possible viruses in some of these downloads.
This program works just like kazaa but does not add all the spyware. The best program by far is itunes ( $0.99 a download)but they don't have the hard to find music yet.

Now downloading copy righted music is against the law. has one 16year old found out this week when he was prosecuted by the music industry for damages of $35,000 and his sister 19yrs was find $45,000. plus the parents
next if you use limewire you leave your self wide open to collecting more viruses than records either way it will cost you dearly

Lime wire is good for music, but be warned there are LOTS of viruses on p2p programs, but generally if you are only downloading music you should be OK - just make sure you have good virus protection before you start.
P.S it is also worth noting that you can be prosecuted for downloading most of the music of lime wire (unlicensed) , the only way round this is to pay for what you are receiving!

downloading copyrighted material is theft. Unless the license is transfered with it. Maybe you need to check out the RIAA site on piracy of copyrighted materials.

Dont use limewire its full of viruses. Try Bitcomet, then demonoid.com and TorrentPond.com for music and films.

I don't use a website - i use a program, bearshare. it's free but make sure you get the version that doesn't have silly spyware on it. i've found limewire and the like to be too confusing, and bearshare is easy to use.

Limewire is my first choice but it wont work on my computer so i use Morpheus
