I believe Tea's husband is cheating on her if I remember correctly. This has been driving me crazy lately. I appreciate the input!!

No, it's newer than that. It sounds much the same but it isn't. Tea has a breakdown of sorts. The one line I can remember is she is going to meet her husband to talk about things and she comes out of the bathroom and is a mess and she says 'how do I look?' and shirley says 'you look like you need to be hosed off with a garden hose' or something to that effect. She is a classic staunch type A personality who drives her husband to cheat on her, if memory serves me correctly. Her kids are college age.... she realizes she's driven her husband away, he comes back to talk and she has to pull herself together to go downstairs to talk to him. That's when who I thought was shirley mcclain says she looks like she needs hosed off with a garden hose...... does this help?

I think that you are thinking of the movie Spanglish. However, Shirley MacLaine did not play Tea's mother in that movie. Cloris Leachman did.
