The rise of Mexican filmmakers has definately produced some great movies this year. Guillermo del Toro is one of the "Three Amigos" as I like to call them, and all three put out great films this year. The three are friends and all put out noteworthy films. They are:
Guillermo del Toro: Obviously he got his storytelling and visual masterpiece out this year with Pan's Labyrinth. One of the best critiqued movies of the year. Such a great and origional film, good mix of fantasy with the harsh reality of those times. Storytelling at it's finest!
Alejandro González Iñárritu: His film Babel has been a pretty good hit. It obviously landed on the "Best Picture" oscar nominations and has many other nominations as well. Despite many storylines across different cultures, it is sewn together great and is a highly intelligant film considering how many different languages are used.
Alfonso Cuarón: Alfonso put out Children of Men which i think has been overlooked for awards season. Very fresh and moving, but also disturbing and grimly beautiful. Very well done and not too "sci-fi" despite being futuristic, and also succeeds in using several different languages well togehter.
Of these big three, I think "Pan's Labyrinth" and "Children of Men" are in a dead heat for my favorite. Babel is the weakest of the three and I wonder how it was able to surpass these two for "Best Picture" honors.
Oh an dont forget the success that Pedro Almodóvar has had with his film Volver. Havent seen it but have heard good things.

the author has magnificent skills and mind's eye, i grow to be disappionted that the advertisement confirmed all the particular consequences there the position, I had anticipated the action picture to be better targeted on the outcomes, from what the advertisement led me to have self assurance. it should be an extremely good benefit for each body in the journey that they save popping out with videos in this rigidity.

I saw it last weekend & I thought it was amazing. I want to see movies from any creative film makers. It's really nice to see movies that don't have one of the same 4 -5 plots that most hollywood productions run into the ground.
