A Honda engine with 42K is certainly a pretty good bet at just $800. Unless somebody ran it out of oil or otherwise trashed it (which is very hard to do with a Honda VTEC) you got a great deal.

If it's a short block you still have to buy lots of hoses, pullies and other stuff, which will run couple hundred more. If it's complete you really got a bargain.

If it runs and sounds good...you should have had a uncle or friend of the family who knows cars or dear old dad ...take a look before you put down the cash...it's your problem now...take to a relaible mechanic..so they can run a diagnostic on it...see what needs to be fixed...even if it is fine...get a tune up and replace the oldest parts but Hondas are known to be pretty good.

Sound ike a real good deal. that car could go for about 4-5 k if it had an original motor. hope the car serves you for a good 5 years

Seems fair enough if that included delivery / shipping. Depending on the specific model of course.

I can assume it was the F22 motor.

you should have done more research in the engine before you bought it, like does it need to be rebuilt?, does it have all the pieces, and stuff like that. if it has all the parts to just put it in and go, and does not need to be rebuilt, you paid the average price for it.....

800 US Dollars? If it isnt wrecked, and it runs ok, I would say that you got a very good deal.
