My ceiling fan remote broke. Can I just replace it with the same model and reprogram?

If I buy another remote with the same model number as my old one, will it be able to be programmed without going into the actual housing of the fan itself? Or do I need to call a professional?

Yes, most brands have universal remotes for there fans, check out the brand and take it to a hardware store that caries them, or just replace the romote in the fan, go to lowes $20.00 good as new

Call the company who made the fan.I have a Hampton Bay
and got an extra one about in about 3 days.
