The problem that ballet teachers have with yoga pants is that they usually cover up your ankles so the instructor can't see what you're doing with them, and they're easy to trip on. If you can cut them off to just above or just below the knee, that's fine. Camis are always fine (put a sports bra underneath); everyone in my ballet classes wears one over her leotard just to look less dorky, and I always wear them 'cause two layers of fabric offers a bit cleaner line and more tummy support. T-shirts of any kind - even tight ones - are a no-no. They cover up too much of what your teacher needs to see to be sure you aren't developing bad movement habits or moving in a way that might cause injury now or later.
Do you have ballet shoes? Do not wear street shoes (street shoes are usually not allowed on studio flooring anyway). If you don't, you can wear socks or cut the heel out of a pair of socks (like a circle cut, leaving the rest intact) because whole socks are nearly always too slippery.
If you can't afford tights from a ballet catalog, go to the store (Target would probably be your best bet). Even tight capri leggings are OK. I just bought a pair of capri tights from Gadzooks (I wear black tights). And you can get a pair of ballet slippers for like $13 online, though technically you should go to a dance retailer and get sized. Here are sites with cheap ballet stuff:

It depends on your studio and teacher; some are fine with it, and other require hair in a bun, black leotard, tights, etc. Always check with your dance teacher first. Also, if you wear the pants, make sure they're not too long.

it might depend on where you take Dance,...but where I go (along with most of the Ballet world) at ballet practice you should be wearing a leotard and pink tights, along with your ballet shoes
but once again, maybe where you take dance its different

it depends on your studio if it is a serious one and has a class uniform buy the uniform. if it is not then you can wear what you want. my studio we have to wear leotard of a specific color depending on the level, tights and ballet/pointe shoes. i used to go to a studio where people wore t shirts and shorts to class. so really just ask someone there.

At my dance school, they allow anything, as long as you can move around and stretch in it, also not baggy. If this is your first ballet class, you should check in with the instructor on what is okay to wear.

From apst experience I would go with short shorts instead of pants. Usually when I dance I want to see more of my mistakes and pants get awfully hot. I end up rolling them up into shorts anyways, which is annoying because they usually fall down.
But you should also check with your teacher

it depends on how strict your teacher is or how good your school is.
You should definitely get a leotard, tights, and ballet flats. Even a skirt is good.
Have Fun!!!!!

I wouldn't think so, most teachers have the students wear tights, so they an see if the legs are bending at certain positions.
