Extreme greed in Latin America has easily made him popular. The elite and powerful of these countries can only keep the masses down for so long. I don't think he has to govern with a iron fist like Saddam Hussein. At times he acts like a clown. I think there has to be compromises on both sides to make it better for all concerned

Chavez cannot be compared to Hussein. how many people do you know of that he has killed or are you comparing him because like saddam, he opposes the West. ?
