Tough question. Many technological inventions were developed as a side-effect to some kind of military need. Many military inventions (machine-guns, atomic bombs, etc.) most would consider bad, but what about the internet, microwave ovens, and other positive contributions that originally came from the miltary? (See also http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Technology/story?id=1796227) Also, most any tool can be used both for good and bad uses (a hammer can be used to build things, or my hands, to smash my thumb to bits), so whether you see the advancement of technology as a good or bad thing may reflect more on (a) your ability to make positive use of the technology, and (b) your trust (or lack thereof) in others to do so. There are many good people in the world, as well as many misguided or even bad people.

That is a tricky question. It is both good and bad. Good in many ways for medicine and advancement in learning but look what it has done for our ozone, our wildlife our global warming wars etc it is hard to say it has balanced out.

wow...this is funny...i actually just turned in a paper on this topic yesterday...altho i had to focus mine on autobomile technology...but technology in general...well...there's good advancements, bad advancements.....and then there's unnecessary advancements...we tend to have more unnecessary advancements whose solutions and conveniences are fewer than the problems they cause...there is no clear cut answer for this...its a very gray area....

Technology provides better tools for mankind to use.
It can save lives or it can take lives.
Good or bad is judged on how we use the technology ... not on the technology itself.

In many areas of life it is a good thing. Here on yahoo everytime they advance and update anything it works less and less (I remember a time voice in messenger actually worked 90% of the time, now it almost never works).

it's good in that it add convenience to everyday life. It becomes bad when people abuse it.
