Okay I know we all call them "Chavs", Pikeys", Neds" etc but the reality is that these are "young, white, lower class people of limited intelligence". That is ALL they are, and as such, they have been around for a very long time.

But I have got a theory that we ( the British) have disappeared so far up our own arseholes with all this political correctness, that now the "Chavs" are the only group left that we are able to criticise, revile and ridicule. In effect, we are laughing at ourselves.

Like I said, the Chavs have been around for a LONG time. And when the British start to re-assert themselves it's likely that most of the support will come from this group, who in the main tend to be very patriotic.

Any thoughts on this?

It's not just the ridicule of chavs that is permitted. You can disparage blondes, Tories, middle and upper classes, native English, Christians, Oxbridge graduates etc whilst local and national government rip the piss out of tax payers.

As you state, chavs are "young, white, lower class people of limited intelligence". What about being young, lower class or stupid relates to ethnicity?
