Cities/places: Catalina (boating for 1-2 hours, not driving; you can catch the boat in Dana Point), Santa Barbara, Temecula Wine Valley (if you wake up really early in the morning, you can go for a hot air balloon ride -- beautiful!), San Diego, Lake Arrowhead.

For hotel recommendations: I always use sidestep.com. It's really easy to search by area within a city, see pictures, prices, etc. The great thing about sidestep is that it searches a lot of travel sites and compiles the results so you don't have to go to a bunch of different sites to find the best deal or a different selection of hotels.

Have fun!

i admire Irvine a lot. it relatively is relatively sparkling and risk-free. Costa Mesa is likewise stable. Orange is in all probability stable as nicely or Anaheim Hills. Newport coastline is well-known yet quite often for singles. Oh, and Hunington coastline is superb as nicely. i do no longer think of Santa Ana is as stable or Anaheim ideal. do in basic terms slightly analysis. like each of southern California, there are stable wallet of residential components and then interior of sight no longer as stable.

Consider one of the casino hotels, like Pechanga in Temecula.
