Traditional powerhouses Tennessee and Connecticut? ACC juggernauts North Carolina, Duke, and defending champion Maryland? Is this the year that parity comes true in NCAAW hoops?

I think that Tennessee, Duke, and North Carolina are locks for the first three. I think the fourth will depend on seeding and who gets the 4th #1 seed. It could end up as LSU, Connecticut, or Georgia. I'm not impressed with Maryland or Ohio State, but they could make it as well.

I think for sure North Carolina and Duke. Probably Maryland and Tennessee. I think North Carolina because I went to Maryland last weekend to watch them play and they look almost impossible to beat. Duke, too, is playing tough and we'll watch them play UNC twice very soon, but right now I'll take UNC to win both or they split. Maryland will come back. Duke and UNC beat them, so they're down, but not out. I think they'll come back. Tennessee just because they're a perennial great team and I have no other pick for that fourth slot.

Parity has not arrived in the women's game, but every year a couple more teams step up. It's overdue and coming.

If they do the bracket pairings correct Tennessee, North Carolina, Duke, and Maryland(if they get there stuff together) should all advance.
