Ok I know that during pregnancy you get swollen ankles but every where i read that it usually doesn't happen till the third trimester. I am 5 weeks along and have swollen ankles and i can feel the tightness all the way up to my knees. Is it normal to have swollen feet this early in the pregnancy. I have been putting my feet up, soaking them and nothing seems to work to get the swollening down. I can still walk and everything so they haven't gotten that bad yet :D

Thanks for any and all advise!

I haven't started the cravings yet. Just been eating a real variety of foods, from salty to sweets.

I'm sure it's not BUT, (and I'm not trying to worry you) it might be a blood clot. My wife has had twins last week and both her ankles were huge and it spread to the top of her legs. They had to get the babies out at 36 weeks as they were worried about blood clots, pre clampsia and others.

Please use the doctors as much as possible because they are there to help you and you won't get on their nerves even if you asked them a question every day.

If you had something which was abnormal or simply 'bad news', the doctors can make it better before it becomes a risk or a threat.

If you see swelling in your face or a pain in your chest, contact your doctor as soon as possible.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

wow!! 5 weeks!! well maybe try to stay off your feet as much as you can and avoid salty foods. Maybe try propping up your feet to let the fluid drain out. Ohh and get someone to rub your ankles from the bottom of your feet to the top of your ankles to push it up if if they really hurt!!!! congrats on your new addition!!!

What are you craving? I was a salt addict when I was pregnant! I loved salty foods so I retained water pretty much the whole time. If you are concerened, ask your doctor!

Good Luck and Congrats!
