DOs' (Osteopaths') thoughts on proteolytic enzyme therapy for pain and inflammation. I have lumbar spinal stenosis and sciatica w/ nerve pain in my legs making it very difficult to walk. I've tried most of the non surgical therapies,(not a candidate for surgery), and have recently read that Systemic Enzyme Therpy may be helpful in dealing with and treating Stenosis. Thoughts and comments, please.

Medication is OK to use, but do yourself the service of seeing if your pain can be relieved by trigger points first. (no medication works on me) There is a book that your library may have if not any of the book stores can get it for you called The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. It can teach you how to get rid of pain that is referred from a place that it does not seem to hurt. 75% success rate

Ive been reading about Bromelain lately. Im using it to treat sinusitis, but in my research Ive seen that it is commonly used as an effective anti-inflammatory for joint pain.

Bromelain is an enzyme derived from pineapple stems.

A search on yahoo with "Bromelain joint pain" will provide you with more information.
