Please forgive me. Don't shoot or report me. I read this Q really fast and thought it was "Easy Bake Oven" and that one uses a lightbulb,,, Smiles.
I suspect the answer is in the different description defined.
Self cleaning is an oven that process caked on stuff by a timed over heating thing, while EASY clean is more likely an oven that has been coated to help aid in whatever methods you use to clean, IE: Like Teflon Cookware.

Well I know self cleaning means you don't use any cleaner on it. Just take everying out of it, close the door. Set the dials for cleaning. ( consult manual for proper procedure ). When you do it right you will hear the door lock. And when you set the cleaning mode you can't open the door until it finishes cleaning itself. So don't plan on using the oven for about 24 hours. Self cleaning I'm thinking means that you don't have to struggle as much while hand cleaning it.That the grease should just come right off without much effort. I'm just guessing this part.

Self cleaning ovens have a "clean" setting on them, where you lock the oven, set it to clean, and the oven heats up to extreme temperatures and basically incinerates whatever is in the oven. You're left with ash, which you just wipe out.
Continuous cleaning ovens have a rough or texturized coating on the inside of the oven which is supposed to "clean itself" through routine use. However, with major spills, you still will need to clean.
Otherwise, you probably have a smooth interior which needs to be cleaned with chemicals such as "Easy Off". The smooth interior facilitates the cleaning process in that a rag or sponge can be used to remove the debris.
