I have a Dell Inspiron. The display is too small with about a one inch black band around it.

Does anyone know what's causing this or how I can go about fixing the problem?

You either have a hardware problem or a driver problem. Try downloading a new video driver.

My brother has a similar situation. If you change the resolution the screen display gets smaller and smaller. The higher the resolution the smaller the screen display and the black border gets wider. At highest resolution the screen display is about 5"X7" and the black border is about 4" wide all around.

Would love to know how to fix this!!
