Computer engineering is just what it sounds like, designing and building computers. Math plays a huge part in the designing processdo to the fact that you have to map out how much information can be processed by the CPU, data flow through cables, determiing the heat factor because the main processor produces over 100 degrees of heat as it operates, and so on.

These days, computers are everywhere. Most electronic things (CD players, TVs, DVD players, even a toaster) all have computers inside. If you have the determination and skill, a computer engineer would be a very high paying job. If you hate math or simply can not do complex equations, tthen you might want to look ofor something different.

If you mean software engineering, then yes it is currently a profession that makes a lot of money, but it is also somewhat endangered because many of the jobs are being outsourced to countries with cheaper labor. I've been a software engineer for 30+ years. You certainly need to be able to do algebra, but unless you are writing some math-specific program, you don't need to know anything about higher math.

truly i do not comprehend a lot about math with a computing device and such, yet from what i have heard and experienced is that in programming, you pick ALOT OF MATH. imagine of it, common binary may even get complicated in 8 bit binary you've 8 sections of numbers 4 bits = Nibble 8 bits = Byte 16 bits = note 32 bits = Double note sixty 4 bits = Quad note (or paragraph) and it only keeps getting better and larger. right it truly is an equation for the fee 1012 = a million*22 + 0*21 + a million*20 = 5 10110 = a million*102 + 0*one hundred and one + a million*one hundred = one hundred and one so certain math is a ought to in programming and such, although an engineer i trust you may pick geometry and such, calibrations and each and every thing. Takes alot of math to get the proper length you pick, motherboards are turning out to be so packed lately, pick a lot of math and technology to make all of it in good structure and artwork.
