I'm going to a swim meet at 5 p.m. tonight, and I'm sick with a cold. I have to do 2 events. The 200 I.M. and the 100 Breaststroke. I'm not so sure about going tonight because I know I might strggle to breath in the water. So I wanted to just do the 100 Breaststroke to improve my time. But why go all the way to a swim meet that's 40 mins. away? Also my aunt and older cousin is going. Plus, my cousin has alot of colage homework to do. And we all wanted to go to dinner afterward, sooooo what do I do, go to the meet, do both events, just do breaststroke, just do the I.M. or not go at all?

Getting water in your ears while having a cold could cause an ear infection. I don't know if you wear earplugs, but they would be a must in this case.
If you're feeling up to it, then go. If you're feeling shitty after the breaststroke, then nix the 200 I.M.
Just go with what your body is telling you.

Would you like someone else with a cold to spread their germs in the water? Stay home, get well.

stay home you do not want everybody else on the swim teams to get sick so take it easy and relax..... make sure to call your coach so that he can have somebody to fill in for you.

Well your health is more important, and if you have a cold, you definitely should not get into cold water.
