Big Band and Swing from the 40's. Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey. I know that sounds square and dull but if you really enjoy "music", listen to complicated harmonies and melodies and admire the talent of the musicians who unlike today's musicians, didn't have a bunch of electronics to make up for their lack of talent. And don't let me catch you starting to move with the beat ! I bet you will.
Speaking of lack of talent...Rap...
I don't dislike the musical part of Rap but despise the overt message it is portraying to those who listen to it and mistakenly pattern their lives after it. What a dis-service the current rappers are doing to those who created it and to those who suffer from it's effects.
