I am a very big romantic myself so I understand what your saying. My guy loves candy from this place called gertrude hawk so I am planning on getting him some candy and some chocolate strawberries. I am also thinking of getting him a nice bottle of wine cause I know how much he likes it on occasion. Next I plan just to be as sweet as possible by lighting candles and cuddling and well you know doing all the other special things that couples should do everyday but just simply dont have time for. The key is to do something special that you know your guy would appreciate. It doesnt even have to be something big. It just needs to say I love you at the end of it. Thanks for asking!

To me it's not about the money, it's about making the person you say you love feel loved..and if you really love this person then whether you have the money or not your heart will allow you to be very creative about what it takes to make this person truely happy. So on Valentines Day I'm going to cook him an "I Love You" Breakfast in bed. Which is 3 Sausages shaped like an 'I', 3 heart shaped pancakes for "Love", Scrambled Eggs shaped in "U" Give him his favorite drink which is Apple Juice, Then I'd sit there will he eats and listen to everything he'd have to say Validate his Feelings, Stroke his EGO he loves that it motivates him then after My long day with my five children I would give him a shower we'd stand there under the hot water, suds everywhere holding each other in our arms soaking up the very thought of having this special person in my life after so many years then I would cook him a very special dinner, give him a card to express i feel about him. Later on we'll watch a movie of his choice, then we'll lay in bed all snuggled up and sorry no sex because i gave myself to the Lord until i'm married. But we will lay Kissing because thats passionate then we will fall asleep. But that's me..........BLESSED352

As somebody 'upstairs' is supposed to have once said, "There shall come a great profit unto the land" and this applies especially to this moronic American idea of "How to make the customers spend a lot of money on not a lot of goods".
It's an idea for shopkeepers to make an unseemly profit out of sheer sloppiness on the part of "lovers", imaginary or real!

i think its a lot of hype, and it can be very depressing and upsetting for a great many people! way too much pressure to put on everyone. just look at some of the questions here.
men want to know how they can make a big deal out of something that should be very private - proposing.
women feel let down if their mates forget, or can't afford, or just don't do valentine's day.
i'm gonna go home to my man and make him a great dinner, and be happy to have him there to make dinner for.

Both, a good time to make an extra effort but not to spent money on cards or flowers. Roses double in price at this time of year it's a rip off. But if my hubby wants to make me breakfast in bed i can live with that.

Personally I think that this is a good day to show that you love someone. I mean its just that little extra way of saying "I love you". I mean they know you do. That would be like saying, well because I go to work everyday, it would be right for them to just forget to pay me. I mean its just a great way of spending more time with your loved one. especially if you haven't had the time recently.
