Yes. Embryonic stem-cell research is very important for treating diseases.
As long as there is an international law against designer babies, it will never pick up. It is too expensive to make a designer baby so it cannot happen underground unless the world allows it to happen. If the market is weak at the beginning (when it is expensive and difficult), it will be non-existent later (because it will never get cheaper and easier).

I believe that it is wrong to create a human life and destroy it. I understand that it could possibly cure a lot of diseases out there, but its still unethical and immoral to take an innocent life in order to save another.
On the other hand they are starting to develop ways of using the umbilical cords of newborn babies to cure many of these diseases. I do support this method, it allows humans to create life while potential saving lives at the same time.

I certainly agree.Since we are imperfect beings prone to disease and death,we should do something about it.I think embryo research will provide many answers and many therapies.
