With the invention of the computer...animation became really easy and now everyone can do it! Seriously...everyone. Cartoons aren't about the stories any more...they're about the flashy cool things that happen and the cool gadgets that toy companies make and sell.
I'd just invest in that sister station of Cartoon Network. It plays all the OLD toons. Like Popeye, Johnny Quest, The Jetsons, The flintstones, Tom and Jerry, Bugs Bunny...

I know I miss saturday mornings,
My kids watch crap, it makes no sence, like Dragonball, or YuGi OH,
The newest is Avitar,
Its all of japans old crap from a few years ago, and the storylines suck
I would rather see a coyote strapped to a rocket, being crushed by a boulder, cought in a bear trap, or a skunk sexually assult a cat with paint on it, anyday.

Back in the day, cartoons relied on a story (either an ongoing one, an episodic format in which each episode is one story, or both.) These kinds of cartoons are still out there today, just harder to find. (Avatar is one such example)

So I'm sitting with my crush and my friend at a table at my school's thanksgiving dinner and it was a very windy day so stuff as flying around and out of nowhere my friend's plate comes flying out of nowhere so what do I get? A plateful of mashed potatoes and turkey gravy. All infront of my crush. She was laughing her *** off though. Everyone was laughing at me. Even the little preschoolers thought it was funny. It wasn't embarrassing because I got a plate full of food, it was embarrassing because it was infront of my crush. I thought it was kinda funny though

the edge has been taken out of "kids" cartoons, and it's expensive to pay animators.
