Why do people think they are funny to repeatedly ask this question as well as the ever popular "underwear on the outside" question?

Both inquiries are as old as Y!A and a simple search would answer them multiple times over.

That said,

In the practical sense of filming, the bullets can be easily faked, either in CGI or simply by using a Blank Gun and having the S-man actor hold flattened slugs, or have them landing at his feet. a thrown gun would require more CGI work, while a simple ducking move can be choreographed between the actors.

In the DCU sense one could imagine that Supes knows that the ricocheting bullets would follow a predictable pattern, minimizing or eliminating any danger to on lookers. a gun, being oddly shaped and incositantly thrown could bounce any number of ways and should the criminal be stupid may still possess a live round which my fire on impact with his body endangering the bystanders, and should he need to catch that bullet it would allow the criminal to flee.

My, my, it seems SOMEone wasn’t paying attention the last few times I answered this question!

All right I’ll give you a break, maybe you’re new here, oslt. But please pay attention and tell everybody.

Superman was NOT ducking. When he saw the bad guy ran out of bullets and was about to throw the gun and flee, Superman would CROUCH to SPRING after the bad guy, and the gun would go sailing over his head. Your interpretation is simply mistaken. Superman would NEVER duck.

So that the gun doesn't bounce back at his attackers, and he doesn't want to get his shiny clothes dirty.
