If I really had a choice and the money it would be a German made car.
However, they suck you dry with the service and parts.
Next choice would be Japanese. The really good ones are expensive.
So my choice was an American made, Grand Prix GT. It hasn't let me down yet (5 yrs. old) and I can get service at almost any place in North America. That is important to me.

98 Buick Century.
Go ahead and laugh. Bought it used for less than $5K. It is relatively affordable to drive, and very reliable (so far).
