PLEASE HELP!!! my dad has had a nosebleed last night, and it hasn't stopped. He's sick?
My dad has been sick for about a couple days. He coughs every once in a while and has a runny nose. My mom told me since last night, my dad had a nosebleed, which is still going on today (morning time now). His nose is bleeding a lot, not like normal nosebleeds where a little bit of blood comes out of one nostril. We've tried to use small towels to stop it but nothing stopped. By the way, he was never in a fight and never got punched in the nose. He's just sick. I don't know what he's sick with. I don't have a thermometer. He's 54 years old and I'm really worried about him. What should I do to stop the bleeding? Should I call the hospital or doctor? PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Take him to hospital now.

Any nosebleed longer than 20 minutes needs medical attention. The can stop it easily in the hospital.

Get him to pinch the end of his nose and tilt his head forward so any blood runs away from him. An icepack on his nose can help too.

Get him treated ASAP. Nosebleeds can be a sign of other conditions.

If he has had a chilly for countless days and taking decongestants and blowing his nostril that takes it toll on the membranes on your nostril. what's happening is that your Dad's nasal membranes are dried out completly. He doesnt nessacarily might desire to bypass to the ER yet calling the fmaily rfile is so as. till then attempt putting dry klenex's in each and each nostril and a chilly %. on his nostril. The chilly %. will constrict the cappilaries in his nostril and could help sluggish if no longer provide up the bleeding. wish this helps and that i wish he feels extra appropriate.

Absolutely go to the doctor if is hasn't stopped. Maybe an Urgent Care instead of the ER? Medical attention is needed if it hasn't stopped by now.

I've only seen this in Hemopheliacs where bleeding does not stop. Go to the doctor ASAP. He may have it making it a very serious problem.
