I can't but my fiance and most members of his family can. He asked his Dr. who told him that the reason they can spread their toes is because they have muscle or ?? that the rest of the world does not. (I'm sorry, he's not here right now to ask specifically what it is.) But I do remember that only a very small % of people can do it and it does run in the family! It's unreal how you guys can do that!

I would get severe cramps in my feet if I tried. I wonder if it is genetic, at least in the sense of the shape of the foot and flexibility of the toes. I don't think it is all that common an ability, but probably easier the younger you are.

I can. My wife calls them the "Toes of Death" because of their grip. Comes in handy when picking up stuff around the house!

Yeah me and my siblings can but nobody in my girlfriends family can. Maybe it's cuz she's from Jersey and I'm from New Hampshire...who knows
