If the right wing viewpoint is so correct and so popular, why is it so necessary for the right wing to use lies and smears to further their agenda?

All TV news and news print is conservative bias. Just look close at who owns them. Lies and smears are the conservative way of life. They use hatred of others and division when they know they are just wrong and can not defend that wrong point of view. If hate does not work then they fall back on the "I am more educated then you" ploy.
I even had one tell me he was far too smart and also far too wealthy to debate any issue. He also drives a Hummer.

The Left leaning media organizations have a far worse record on this subject the Fox News does, but you would have to want to hear the truth instead of an argument that fits your opinion to see that! Some of the most popular and quoted liberals in today's political circles have been proven to be wrong or misleading. The left has master lies and propaganda and you kooladie drinkers would do yourselves a favor by putting it down!

They decided to use lies back when they were called the Federalist Party.
During the French Revolution they saw all the aristocrats getting beheaded. So fearing this could also happen here in America they set forth a public policy to pretend to be pro America and pro American

Because they don't have a life. For some reason lies make them feel better about themselves. One of the reasons I probably will not be back here, too much drama.

lies and smears come and go on a two way street. right wing, left wing, it is all a game. why does it perplex the left that fox news has such an easily marketable strategy and such a wide viewer base when the left easily has a stranglehold on 90% of the media outlets?
