Sheesh, I see that this question has been a repeated one, but I'd like to see opinions for myself. Personally I think he SHOULD die! That would be a fabulous ending. I know it's gonna be sad and upsetting and all, but you can't always let the hero win! That's simply a cliched storyline.

The book is titled: 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' not 'hollows'

I think that would kill off interest in the book. The first people that read the book will post the ending, and many would refuse to buy the book to hear that he dies. Rawling can do many other things to Harry than kill him off.

No. The thing is, if Rowling really wanted to kill him off, she wouldn't have hinted at it. AT ALL. Much like Sirius's and Dumbledore's deaths. Before book 5, she said 'someone close to Harry'. Not one person I know guessed it could be Sirius. Not alot of people wanted it to happen. But it did. And that's exactly what makes this whole series so interesting. You predict something, and then something else happens. Maybe if the hero won, it would have been boring before, but now that everbody's starting to ponder it, it'll be even a more cliche to kill him off. I think we all know Rowling is a better writer than that. Something unexpected will happen.

Kill Harry Potter?
I'm really indifferent about that... everyone would love to see a happy ending after the life of misery Harry has endured but if he doesn't die... how is there any closure to the book?
But if she DOES kill him, that insures that there will be NO sequel...

Does anyone realize that by the time they do the 7th movie the kids will be 20 years old? We've practically watched them grow up.

If they kill him, I'll cry for sure haha.... I cried when Sirius Black died! Haha, I'm such a dork.

Heavens no!! Everyone knows that he is going to grow up to be the 'defence against the dark arts' teacher......then there will be a whole new series....
But I am still in the denial stage about Dumbledore....So maybe I am not the best person to answer..

It has been said that one cannot die while the other survives. (This refers to Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort.)

she says she wants to kill him off so that no one else can write follow ups to the books but they still can anyway. on one hand i think he should die and he should be the ultimate hero. then again i think it would be good for him to live and for neville to turn out to be the big hero!
