i tried opening by twisting, but no use

Sometimes you just pull one side of the cover down and other brands may have a tiny hole on the side to push in a clip or something...

How old is the alarm? The newer ones have a 10 year battery. If you push the button on the face it should test by alarming. If it is a older alarm it will open like a clam shell look for the arrow. pry or bend it around the restraining peg. Alarms are cheap if it is too old get a newer model.

See if you can see an arrow and pull down on it there.If not try pulling down on a side at a time. Good Luck
