My ipod headphones fit in my ears but they always slip out after like 5 secs ne1 else have this problem, i mean I know the logical thing to do is to use a different set of headfones but it perplexes me that these are probably the biggest selling item since playstations, yet the headfones for em are useless

I think everyone who owns an iPod has the same problem. If you have a new ipod ( the 30 or 80 gb video or the new Nano or Shuffle) they come with redesigned headphones that stay in much better than the old ones... You can get them from apple for $26... They stay in much better, before I got the new Nano with the new headphones I never used the earbuds... Also at Best Buy they have these things called earjams that clip onto the old earbuds and they make them in ear and they stay in much better and they amplify the sound, so it becomes louder and crisper.

No there isnt..The earphones are positively too small on your ear..the glaring solution to fix this can be to purchase new ones..those which have the smushy stuff over the earpeice and so that they arrive in 3 astounding sizes interior the pair to manage to change it to in effective condition your ear..
