Seems the people who have brought us cheap fossil fuels have a large stake in all this and they where dumb enough years ago not to own the patents on renewable fuels and are trying now to play catchup and develop and patent technology to replace the current coal and fossil fuel plants that are destroying the balance of carbon needed in the atmosphere to maintain a a moderate climate .
So again man is engaged in a battle not just with the military industrial complex but now the entire power industry . They will lose billions if we are going to switch to renewable fuels which they do not control . Those wacky scientists in the 60's and 70's got all the patents sowed up and big power companies are scrambling today to change that by pouring billions of dollars in to high tech patented processes so they can maintain there strangle hold on the world economy .From buying up silicate deposits needed in solar panels to the processes in which they can be refined . we are paying for this now .

Playtoofast, son of Adam, imagine a large boulder on a hilltop. It takes little force to push the boulder down the hill, as in comparison to the force it generates traveling down the hill. This is global warming. Man, a tiny force in nature, tipped the balance enough to start an uncontrollable cycle.
There are areas of permafrost that have been frozen for 11,000 years melting. Most of these areas are frozen peat bogs, which when thawed will release much more trapped CO2 than tiny man. This cycle that has been started will last centuries even if tiny man stop all CO2 emissions today.
The color red does not need a blind man to believe it exist to exist. The Earth maintains a delicate balance. Just as the silt in a quiet pool will eventually settle, so will the air clean itself. That will not happen, however, unless you stop contaminating the air.
What you stated is not true, and there is a technology available today for each individual to conbat global warming, photovoltic panels.
Every state and the federal government has programs and financing available to help every home owner install photovoltic paneling on their roofs and connect to the power grid. If you own a rooftop and are not taking advantage of these programs, you are failing to contribute to the fight against global warming.
Do not blame that which you call government and big business for failing to address this problem. Blame only yourself for placing the responsibilties on others. You are acting like the human who passed gas in an elevator.

The question of Global Warming is definitely an economic one. Regardless of whether this issue is caused, helped by mankind, or is a natural event that would occur whether or not humans were on this planet at all are irrelevent. It's the money that's being pushed by both sides that people should pay attention to.
Companies don't want to pay large amounts to convert over and environmentalist want money to fuel their cause. I'm sure Al Gore made no money off of his movie and book. Not to mention that his wealth came from a petroleum company that his father started in Tennessee. If Al was so concerned about Global warming why doesn't he make his petro company switch over? Money. Politicians answer to money first then issues. And there is lots of money to be made in creating a huge issue, despite it's true scope.

Global warming doesn't Necessarily mean it wouldn't snow. even extreme cold in some places is a sign of Global warming. The sea level is rising too and the amount of toxins released into the atmosphere are much which pretty much explains that it really is happening.

Who stands to lose

This a bit off track but So far more than a million people have died in Polynesia from Global Warming.

What has happened is Island people are in a state of mass hysteric exodus from low lying islands. They have taken Al Gores warning as eminent threat and loaded up in canoes braving the open Ocean looking for higher ground.

Gore's strong message designed for the fat complacent American was taken to heart by those of a simpler lifestyle.

Sorry Al but you have killed more than you have saved.

Al Gore hired a scientist(pro-global warming) to do research on what would be the consequences 50 years from now IF we do nothing about global warming . His scientist's conclusion. . . .. . almost NOTHING . A rise in global temps of about 0.0003 degrees !!!!
You're fighting a losing battle . The UN is going to publish a report in May that says there is NO PROOF that mankind has anything at all to do with global warming . AND that even if we did, there's NOTHING we can do about it . Read up on the subject . They made it clear and very public, perhaps your 'news source' isn't covering the truth .

According to an announcement this week by the global warming "Chicken Littles" global warming is irreversible and will continue for the next thousand years no matter what we do.

So I guess we can all stop talking about this bull crap and just start living our "best-and-most-prosperous-in human-history" lives again.

Global Warming is just another Al Gore crackpipe fantasy. What's happening is that the Earth is approaching the end of the last ice age. It's a natural cycle that was slowed down a bit when that comet hit the Gulf of Mexico about 12,000 years ago. What are you going to do to reverse it, get cows to quit farting? Lots of luck.

Global warming is real, and if we do adress it a large part (if not all) of the economy will be hurt if we do not use alternative energy sources.
