There is no active volcano in Morgan Hill. There are igneous rocks from ancient magmatic sources around the area. Not too far from Morgan Hill: Pinnacles National Monument, between Gilroy and King City, is a great place to climb around the remains of an ancient volcano.
This USGS site has a virtual geology field trip of Pinnacles: http://3dparks.wr.usgs.gov/pinnacles2/index.html
