might be signs of labor, if the pains get stronger, or you start to bleed a bit that is a sign of labor as well. Ultrasounds are not always correct, they told me my baby was close to 9lbs a week before she was due, she came out at 7lbs. They also said I was due a week later then the doctor said and well she came 2 days after the due date. So don't go by the ultrasound.

The big give away for me was when the pain stopped. I'd been having craps and pains randomly then I had a really bad pain which went with a sever crap. Then it went away completely, like it had never been there. I got up from my position of leaning on a radiator to relieve the back pain, walked across the room and along came the next contraction, then I knew.
I called my doctor who said, take a pain killer, have a warm bath and don't be surprised if it doesn't go away.
Good luck

This is no doubt labour pain. It was almost like my labour. I had slight pain in the stomach as well as at the back. Pressure was there. But i deliver only after 13 hrs. Severe labout pain lasted for almost 5 hrs. So go to the hospital now. Good luck and congrats!

Signs of Labor
Back pain/menstrual like cramps/full-blown contractions, that can be timed. (Start the clock at the start of one contraction and end it at the start of another, that will tell you the time b/w contractions). If they fall 3-5 mins. apart get to the hospital ASAP!
May or may not have rupture of the membranes(bag of waters)
Passing of the mucous plug (glob of mucus, mixed with or without blood in it.)
*if you have these symptoms call your doctor or the hospital where you are to deliver and find out if the doctor wants you to go in or not. Good luck and Congrats!*

It definitely can be labor starting. Losing your mucus plug can mean labor will start, water breaking also.
If your contractions become regular and 5 min apart or less for an hour you should go to the hospital to be checked.
good luck

This sounds like the begining of labor!!!! Keep track of how long the contractions are and how far apart they are. If they are getting closer, you might want to head to the ER!!! It usually feels like you need to have a bowel movement!! Good luck!!

if you're that overdue, then you need to be induced. talk to your doctor. you don't want to have a huge baby to push out. good luck, sounds like the beginnings of labor.
