BBC America broadcasts shows from England 24-7. PBS and HBO occasionally have UK shows. "Dr. Who" comes on the Sci Fi channel and "Bad Girls" is shown on LOGO. I like "Da Ali G Show" (or whatever it's called). Sometimes I watch "Footballers Wives" and "What Not to Wear" but I get sick of listening to the British accents. It sounds like they need to pull the stick out of their bum.

Many of the shows that have been popular in the UK (Big Brother, The Office) are remade in the US with American actors/participants. The humor doesn't translate very well and the accents are off-putting (one person with a British accent in a show is charming, but a whole cast is hard to take).

Can I please inform any American posters that there is no such thing as a British accent, Britain is a collection of four countries. I have an English accent, my 'neighbours' 70 miles up the road (the A1) have Scottish accents then there's the Welsh and the Irish. However, within that generalisation, we have too many accents to mention. They change around every ten miles. My accent is called Mackem which is a bit like Geordie (sorry to all other Mackems .... but it is) but is a tad softer.

Well, my favorite U.K. TV show is definitely Agatha Christie's Poirot! Though the U.K. shows that I watch the most on BBC America are Blackadder and Fawlty Towers. : )

Yeah, I have satellite so I get BBC (British Broadcasting Company) I don't watch it a lot though. But when I do, the original Whose Line Is It Anyway? is pretty good.

BBC America transmit loads and I think the HBO channel do too. I once saw Prime Suspect on HBO while on holiday in New York.

Our PBS stations sometimes carry english programming, plus, near the border with Canada they offer CBC...My Favorite show growing up was the one about the Department Store with the woman with purple hair and Putting Up Appearences....now it's Wire in the Blood (though i think it's canceled, and Hex, def. canceled)

On cable we have BBC America which has some of your comedies and soaps (e.g. Last of the Summer Wine and Eastenders) and a news program.

We usually get shows that are years behind your current ones on PBS. ON cable we get some more. We hardly get any Australian ones unless they are on cable. The Monarch of the Glen soap is on PBS. Mostly comedy or mysteries.

They get BBC America and BBC World, so lots of stuff, some of the locals in Boston told me last year they really like Eastenders and Top Gear - odd combination but there you go :)

Not so sure about America but my friend who is in Toronto, Canada gets the omnibus edition of Coronation Street on a Sunday, although they have only just had Mikes funeral.
