For myself I love the books because J.K Rowling can pull me into Harry Potter's world. I Love the way she describes everything. And explains each character's role and how they connect to each other. I can even relate to some. She is a brilliant writer and I love getting lost in the world of Harry Potter.

I want to just jump right into the books.

That is a great question, I had never really thought about it before. I just love the story, the characters are so real and have so much depth. the story fits well together and is as believable as a world in which magic exists can be. I like the fact that despite being witches and wizards the characters have problems and emotional upheavals like any normal people would do. The chemistry between all the characters is great and it doesn't hurt that there are so many amazing twists and turns that keep you hooked. The Harry Potter books are well written and just simply fabulous.

Harry Potter saved my sanity! I began listening to the books on tape in 2001 in order to make a very long drive to and from a very bad job more bearable. Each day I'd look forward to the hour and a half I'd spend with Harry and friends in the morning and then again in the evening. The character development is realistic, and the message is positive. Also, each book builds upon the last and the themes seem to grow up along with Harry. The books are becoming more 'adult' as Harry gets older. I also enjoy her particularly British way of handling narrative (I'm not able to clarify this too well at the moment, but she has a definite 'flavor' of writing); it allows one to face horrors as long as one has a nice cuppa tea and the will to go on...

All that said, I'm well beyond the target audience age (old enough to have children who are Harry's age, but I don't). I think Rowling's work is uplifting and positive despite some dark themes, and I don't mind saying that I have already pre-ordered "Deathly Hallows." Cheers!

Wow, that's a loaded question. Hm...

I love the books for many reasons. Most of all I fell in love with the characters. They are so complex. You can relate to some of the characters, and in other cases, know people that resemble other characters. I can't tell you the number of times I've said, 'He's as arrogant as Malfoy Sr.'!

The character's histories are so human like that you can't help but sympathize with Snape and other characters, that at face value would make you say 'evil'. J.K. Rowling has made characters like Snape so deep that I'm so divided about where his loyalties really are. (He's good...I think...)

These books have also united me with many of the friends I have now. I would not have gotten together and met the loyal friends that I have now if it were not for this book series. The books have also gotten friends of mine who had never picked up a book for leisure to READ! It was a miracle! XD

I'm glad she wrote the book, even though sometimes what she writes, and who she writes off, upsets me. (I seriously want Sirius BACK!!!)

God Bless J.K. Rowling

HArrY takes me to another world when I read. I am not ME anymore if that makes sense. I am now Harry and Hermione and Ron and so on. I am now a student of Hogwarts and not MY school! I am a witch and I play Quidditch and can do magic. It helps me get away from the evil thing that God's earth has become and get into the shoes of somone else for a little while (or a long while most of the time). I can get away from MY enemies and MY friend troubles and learn about Harry's! Also its just such a GREAT book to get us kids reading! IDK if all that was clear or not but those r my reasons!

Rowling writes a spellbinding story with amazing characters and interesting plots that makes can't wait to find out what is going to happen next. She makes the characters come alive in our minds when we read each additional installment into the story that it seams as if we personally know the characters and our fate also rests with Harry Potter.

They're incredibly imaginative, very funny and moral too...I love it how Rowling puts so much emphasis on good and evil, bravery, loyalty and friendship...Dumbledore is my hero, everything a teacher should be, wise beyond expression...teacher, mentor and friend. And Rowling created a whole parallel world and its just sooo believable lol ..if i didn't know for a fact that they didn't exist, the book will make it seem like those people really exist. I LOVE the books :D and yes, the story is fantastic too, totally unpredictable and fascinating..

I think everyone wants to see the 'underdog' rise to defent his enemies and save the world, his world.

He is an appealing character who has nice friends. It's nice to share his trials and tribulations and his friends

I have read each book out loud to my daughter everynight before bedtime for some years now. Before too long she was taking her turn in reading to me. We would use expression and emphasise to make it more scary for each other. We would put the book down and talk about what we would do if we were in their situation.

And J K Rowlings was a single mum....all the power to her, she has written a brilliant series of book. We are waiting eagerly for the next movie to come out.

THAT IS A REALLY GOOD QUESTION! I would have to say the characters. J.K. Rowling makes some really good characters. It's also the never ending feeling of, "What the helli s going to happen next?"

I love the series, and those are the reasons why. So there I hope that helps your question.
