I lost a baby in June to "potters sequence" my doctor believs it was due to a wreck I was in early in the pregnancy since I and my fiance donot carry the genetic markers for this. Our doctor wasn't sure about our question so I would like input on this my other three children are healthy and I was just wondering if this could happen again.

the little baby i lost was a girl I already have two boys and 1 girl so yes we belive this was caused by an auto accident we don't have the gentic markers for this disease since one of my boys and my little girl are my current boyfriends also he has 5 other children and they are all healthy. and I have looked at the web their not very encouraging. and we try to forget that she died. also their was evidnece that I was carrying two babies at the timw but the other embryo died at four weeks pregnancy that is when the wreck occured. I am very lucky to be alive the person that hit me was high and going 70 MPH when she hit me.

i lost a baby after trying for 2yrs,2 months later i was pregnant again,i worried myself sick which is not the right thing to do for you or the baby, luckily everything went well,he was born on schedule and was healthy, however i had a vey bad postpartum depression after,i know it's a chemical imbalance it lasted about 8 months,it was terrible, probably all that worrying before hand
if you decide to try again, don't worry i'm sure things will go well just take care of yourself, rest etc and enjoy the children you already have and get them to help you with getting things ready for the new baby
takecare and goodluck

I dont get how your doctor thought this could be cause by an auto accident. Potters sequence is the lack of or undeveloped kidneys in the baby. It is predominately a male problem so if you got pregnant with a girl you may have no problem and since it is rare you may not have any problems. you need to research this as much as you can before deciding on another pregnancy. I just looked up Potters sequence and found several sites check them out.

If your dr really feels it was due to a car(?)wreck you were in than very likely, no. Just thinking logically.. that sounds like you answered your own question! :)

However, the dr could be wrong and it may happen again but I'd trust him that you probably don't and you and future babies should be fine.

My dr. says every time you are pregnant the same odds are 1 out of 5 miscarry! I would not worry and just be pregnant and not stress! Best wishes!

It could happen again, but then again it may not.. Just put your faith in Gods hands and he will guide you!
