Why not? How do you he does not have grit? You should remember, he is young and destroyer of any kind of bowlers on his day. Nothing wrong in giving him a chance.

The Indian team has to settle at the right combinations for the World Cup 2007
Before the tournament begins we can provide Virender Sehwag with an oppurtunity to regain his form and postion in the side. The series against SL might be just the time to test him and decide whether to include him for the team during the world cup.
If Sehwag does not score in the matches against Sri Lanka on Indian soil then he does not deserve a position for the world cup championships

Dilip Vengesarkar wants Sehwag to perform as he is a key member of Indian Cricket team, Sehwag in the past have given very good starts in ODI's, since World cup matches are with tremendous pressure selectors might be thinking of experienced player instead of putting inexperienced one in the middle. So it will be the last chance for Sehwag to prove his importance to the WC team, if he fails certainly he will not be included in the WC team, so this is more a test for Sehwag rather than opportunity.

Absolutely not. The guy does not deserve a recall so soon after being dropped. He should first show his worth in the domestic circuit just like Saurav. However, this cannot be expected in India. People get into the team due to their affiliations and the people they know and not on the abilities of the player. This has happened too many times and is not going to end. That is why the Australian team is so good. They drop players who are not performing

By droping Virender Sehwag, selectors and team management has given a warning signal to him that his place in the Indian Team cannot be taken for granted and he has to perform well to be in the Indian Team.
I strongly feel that this may have given him enough jerk and that he has got the message what the selectors and team management conveyed to him by dropping him from the sideand that he will be altogether a different player by now.
If he is in form he can demoralise any bowling attack in the world and he is a match winner as he can score fast and also bowl effectively. Such players need to be encouraged. However, if he fails to deliver in the ODI matches against Sri Lanka that will mark the end of his prospects in the World Cup.

This is the bane of Indian Cricket, we always give too many chances to the failures of the game, the other example being Suresh Raina in spite of repeated failures,he is selected contnuously, but a player like Robin Uttappa or for that matter Dhinesh Karthick in spite of making good scores are always overlooked, this is basically due to the internal politics of BCCI.
As long as we are having the Zonal Selection method, this is bound to happen. God save Indian Cricket.

Yes he deserved. We cannot compare Ganguly's exclusion to Sehwag! Becas World cup is just around and we cannot take a risk ! The risk involved in excluding him is much grater than includin g him (with fear of his failing)

i dont like viru at all.most of the time he is out of form.if saurav woudn't have performed in that 1st test against s.africa he might not have another chance
but viru is being treated as a king.he does not deserve a place.
kaif ghambhir have been forgotten n this non performing player is being included

When the team is doing well without him, why you want him back?
Robin, Saurav, Sachin, Dravid, Dhoni all are scoring runs.
