Okay, first of all, you're talking about promotions not about sales pitches so ignore the comment about it being annoying. If it is a legitimate sales pitch, it's merely you communicating to the customer the benefits of your product.
If you feel your product will truly enhance someones life, you tell them why. Explain to them that what you have is something they need. But be certain that you positively believe that this will be good for them or it will come through.
Start with "Have you ever heard of......?" Then go right into the benefits. Remember, facts tell....stories sell. Make sure you have a story to throw in there about how this product has helped someone else, or benefitted them in any way. It really depends on what your product is for me to give you more information.

Most people don't want to hear pitches. When consumers go to a store, they already know what they want to purchase. They don't want to be bothered by someone trying to sell something to them. It's very annoying.
