My comp used to work fine. Now when I turn on Internet Explorer or Firefox Mozilla I get a pop-up (IE) or AOL starts (Firefox) asking me to connect to the Internet. The IE pop-up asks me if I'd like to connect to the Internet or Work Offline. The comp is on a cable modem and the first pages always load up, so I don't know why it insists that I connect via a regular modem. It started doing this a few months ago without any reason, from what I could tell. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In IE, go to 'tools', 'internet options', 'connections', and click on 'Never dial a connection'.

In your Internet Options, go under Connections and make sure to remove any Dial-up options you may have.
