nowdays use of condoms is very frequent due to aids and population control programmes. educated and urban women use sanatary napkins during periods. people use razors for shaving. i think millions of condoms, sanatary napkins and razors must be thrown in garbeg everyday. i want to know are all these articles bio-degradable? how they are disposed with by the municipal corporations? do they affect our ecology in any way?

Well they are thrown away yes, and since MANY of us do not have bio hazard trash cans or pick ups in our area then yes they are thrown into the garbage. From there they are taken to a land fill, where for the next two hundred years they will sit and rott. Now many women today have gone from sanitary napkins to things called tampons. These, unless you get an applicator are all biodegatable and fluch down the toilets. Applicators, if thrown away are card board, again only if you don't get plastic applicators, and will also biodegrade shortly after arriving at set land fill.

Yes they effect ecology they sit in land fill sites and sit a don't rot for a very very long time.

You can get something called a moon cup which is reusable and less likely to cause toxic shock. There are also organic cotton tampons that will biodegrade.

No idea what to do about condoms.

I guess you could use a cut throat razor for shaving if you were very conscientious
