My two year old was screaming when he told that patient about what his grandmother did to him when he was a child. We did manage to catch something about a tub of ice. Later, he revealed it was his father who did it, not his grandmother. We are dying to know what it was!

He used to be given ice baths and be left out on the lawn at nights to be taught discipline. His father wanted to toughen him up.

What you probably missed was the patient disbelieving him about it being his Grandmother because he told her he never told his parents about what was happening and he kept calling his grandmother Omah, German for grandma. She thought if his grandmother abused him he would not use a term of endearment to describe the woman.

In the end he told him the truth about it being his father.

It was Ice baths and nights on the lawn

He said Oma(sp) was Dutch for Grandma and since she was still both he kept calling her that. The girl insisted that it was a lie because he would have stopped using that name

He later admitted it was his dad, who if you may recall was played by R. Lee Ermey in an earlier episode. and quite honestly I could see him doing that, based on their interaction in that previous episode.
